CHPW Credentialing for Therapists

Community Health Plan of Washington is one of Washington’s Apple Health managed-care plans, but CHPW participation is separate from HCA ProviderOne enrollment.
Short version: Complete the HCA/ProviderOne state layer first, then follow CHPW’s current join-network and credentialing process before treating CHPW as billable.
Sections
Prerequisites before CHPW
HCA/ProviderOne enrollment or applicable state registration.
Current CAQH/DataSpring profile and documents.
Correct Type 1 and Type 2 NPIs, taxonomies, W-9, and service locations.
Plan network interest and county/product fit verified.
CHPW participation request
CHPW’s join-network page directs providers to an online Provider Enrollment Form to start a new contract request. Treat that request as the beginning of the plan-specific process, not the effective date.
Credentialing and activation checks
CHPW provider materials reference CAQH participation and provider notification after credentialing. Before scheduling CHPW members as in-network, verify contract, effective date, roster, portal access, eligibility, authorization rules, and first claim behavior.
Where Bomi Fits
Bomi helps therapy practices keep the operational layers aligned: HCA/ProviderOne enrollment, CAQH/DataSpring profile maintenance, MCO applications, portal access, eligibility checks, claim routing, denials, revalidation reminders, and first-paid-claim verification. The goal is not just an approval letter; it is billable access for the Apple Health members you actually see.
Operational note: This is general billing and credentialing education for Washington therapy practices, not legal, compliance, or payer-specific billing advice. Confirm current HCA, ProviderOne, CAQH/DataSpring, OneHealthPort, MCO, provider-manual, authorization, telehealth, and contract requirements before submitting enrollment, claims, or portal requests.
