Authorizing Your Biller for Availity
By George Ruan • June 22, 2026
Rather than managing payer portals yourself, Bomi can handle your billing and credentialing for you — so you can get back to seeing clients sooner.
Availity Essentials is the free payer portal we use to confirm eligibility, check claim status, submit attestations, and pull remittances on your behalf for most commercial payers, including BCBS, Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, and Humana.
Availity is a provider-controlled portal, which means the practice has to register the account under its own tax ID and administrator. Once it exists, you simply add us to your team and we handle the day-to-day work from there. It is a one-time setup that takes about 15 to 20 minutes, in two parts.
Part 1: Register Your Availity Account
Go to Availity's onboarding page and click Create a Free Account.

Create your user account, then choose to register a new organization. Select the option that says you need to register a new organization and will be the primary administrator.

Availity will ask you to verify your identity with a few knowledge-based questions, then have you enter your organization's information: your NPI, tax ID, address, and primary administrator contact info. Availity reviews the application and may ask a few extra verification questions. That's it.

Part 2: Add Bomi to Your Team
Once your account is live, log in and open Manage My Organization from your account menu.

Go to Manage My Teams, then click Invite Users.

Enter our details:
Last Name: Ruan
First Name: George
Email: george@billwithbomi.com
Then click Assign Roles and give us the same roles you have as the administrator, so we can manage your practice. Send the invitation.

Quick Summary
Part 1: Register your free Availity account at availity.com under your practice's tax ID, verify your identity, and enter your organization info.
Part 2: In Manage My Teams, invite george@billwithbomi.com (Last: Ruan, First: George) and assign the same roles you hold as admin.
Once the invitation is sent, let us know and we'll confirm we can sign in. From there, we handle the eligibility checks, claim status, attestations, and remittances through your account, and you can get back to your clients.
